How to launch an SMS campaign for Plug'Heur terminal users

SMS campaigns allow you to send promotional messages directly to users when they charge their device on your Plug'Heur terminals. This feature turns charging time into a business opportunity.

Characteristics of the SMS message

Recommended format and content

  • Concise message : Maximum 160 characters (including spaces) for a standard SMS
  • ⚠️ Important : If your message exceeds 160 characters, it will be billed as 2 SMS (up to 320 characters), 3 SMS (up to 480 characters), etc.
  • Clear call to action : Encourage specific action (visit, purchase, discovery)
  • Optional link : Possibility to integrate a link to your site, a special offer or your menu
  • Engaging tone : Use direct and attractive language

Examples of effective messages

  • “☕ Do you want a good coffee? Starbucks is waiting for you in zone B - 1 coffee bought 1 free coffee!”
  • “🛍️ Take advantage of -10% at Relay with the code PLUGHEUR10"
  • “🍕 Hot pizza ready in 5 min! Order on our app: [link]”
  • “📱 While visiting X, discover our offers: [link]”

Implementation process

Step 1: Preparing your campaign

  1. Write your message by complying with the recommendations above
  2. Define the broadcast period (start and end dates desired)
  3. Get your link ready (optional) making sure it works properly

Step 2: Transmission

Send your request to to your account manager (or support@plugheur.fr) by specifying:

  • The exact content of the SMS message
  • The possible link to be integrated
  • The start and end dates of the campaign
  • Your billing details

⚠️ Imperative deadline: 7 working days minimum before the desired launch

Step 3: Validation and programming

  1. Our team validates the content and conformity of the message
  2. Scheduling automatic dispatch in our system
  3. Confirmation of online release sent by email with campaign details

Reach and dissemination

Current coverage: SMS messages are broadcast to all users of your Plug'Heur terminals. If you have multiple installation points, all users charging at any of your stations will receive the message.

Future evolution: The possibility of targeting specific terminals is being studied for future versions. Do not hesitate to talk to your account manager if you wish.

Pricing

Cost per SMS

  • Unit rate: €0.10 per SMS sent
  • Counting rule: 1 SMS = 160 characters maximum (spaces included)
    • Message of 161 to 320 characters = 2 SMS = €0.20
    • Message of 321 to 480 characters = 3 SMS = €0.30
    • And so on...
  • Invoicing: At real cost (number of SMS actually sent)
  • Modality: Billed separately from your Plug'Heur subscription

Volume estimate

The number of SMS messages sent depends on how often you use your terminals. To estimate the volume, use:

  • The average number of daily recharges at your terminals
  • The duration of your campaign
  • The seasonality of your business

Example: 50 refills/day × 7 days of campaign = 350 SMS × €0.10 = €35 excluding VAT
If your message is 180 characters long: 350 × 2 SMS × 0.10€ = 70€ HT

Performance monitoring and analysis

Responsibility for follow-up

Analyzing the commercial impact of your SMS campaign is your responsibility. We recommend that you set up monitoring indicators adapted to your goals.

Suggested follow-up methods

  • Dedicated promo codes : Use SMS campaign-specific codes to track conversions
  • Tracked links : Use short URLs with tracking (bit.ly, tinyurl) to measure clicks
  • Customer Questioning : Ask your customers how they learned about your offer
  • Sales comparison : Analyze the evolution of turnover during the campaign period

  • Promo code usage rate
  • Increase in store traffic
  • Average basket
  • Return on investment (ROI)
